I was feeling lazy (again) and decided to reach for something quick and easy for dinner, yet I still managed to blow UP my kitchen. Good times. In addition to the featured margarita french bread pizza, I made Jay a Hawaiian version with some grilled pineapple, Canadian bacon, sautéed onions and a fire roasted jalapeño.

Nat’s Changes: I decided to make pesto with the basil in my garden rather than using a tomato based sauce. I used about a cup of olive oil and then 4 big handfuls of fresh basil leaves, 3 cloves of garlic, a handful of fresh oregano, and some rosemary into the blender– along with some salt and pepper. I hit it around till it sort of resembled what I think pesto is supposed to look like, and it tasted good, so I’m pretty proud of it, lol.
I sautéed some onions in what was really an excessive amount of butter along with a tiny bit of salt.
I brushed the pesto over the whole bun, put on some blobs of fresh mozzarella, a few forkfuls of the grilled onion, and several large leaves of fresh basil from my garden. I topped that off with some halved cherry tomatoes. I cooked according to her directions, and then when these came out of the oven, we drizzled it with a bit of balsamic vinaigrette. To *die* for.
